Baseball!

I finally got some pictures tonight of Cooper's playing baseball.  Our practices have been starting at 6 p.m. and the lighting has just been too bad to get any decent pictures.  After being harassed my my father about the lack of photographs of his grandson playing ball, I remembered the camera tonight.  I have to say that if you need something to make your soul smile, T-ball will do it.  I love everything about it but mostly that the kids have no idea what is really going on.  They are not competitive yet and are playing just for the fun of it.  No body gets mad when they get out or miss the ball.  In fact, it seems the best part for them is chasing down the wild throws that allow more running around time.  Oh and the dirt, glorious dirt.  It seems Cooper likes a clean base because he will spend several minutes cleaning all the dirt off the bag while he waits for the next batter.  He was most excited tonight because he got part of his uniform - his socks.  His bright egg yolk colored socks.  His giant bright egg yolk colored socks!  He cannot wait to put them on but I told him he had to wait until his game.  His team this year is the Athletics (the A's) and our colors are the traditional deep green and golden yellow.  His first game is in a couple of weeks and we all cannot wait.

Enjoy the photos Pawpaw.

Hmmm....Do I have time to clean off the base?

The biggest brother!

So we had the biggest shock I think a pregnant woman (and her husband) can get tonight when we had our ultrasound done.  Turns out the Lord has blessed up with two boys for the price of one pregnancy!  They were both 100% boys and are really healthy.  They are actually right on schedule for their gestational age which is another blessing.  They are not identical and have separate sacs and placentas.  Here is there first photo together:
Cooper was excited to find out but was a little sad we were not having a girl.  I am sure he will get over it quickly when he realizes that he now has his own gang to run.  In fact, he told me that he will be the biggest brother!  The wheels started turning on the way home however and he was very concerned we would not have enough chairs at the dinner table!  I am very proud to see him already looking out for them!
Marshall is still blissfully unaware of how his status as the "baby" of the family is about to change.
I am going to need a bigger couch!

What happened to my pants?

Boys digging in the dirt.  Boys digging in the dirt with no pants.  Where are their pants you ask?  I have no idea but it is warm outside and there is no way I am going to try and wrestle them into pants.  Plus I think it is cute!
Cooper did run back inside to get his shoes cause he can't use his shovel the right way without his shoes.  Pants are optional in the proper use of a shovel in his world.
Marshall choose boots to accompany his digging clothes.
I love boys!

Happy Fall Fellowship

Wow, been awhile huh?  Understatement I know, but I actually have been trying to spend less time on the computer and more time sewing spending time with the boys.  So the blog has suffered but time with the boys and mommy's sewing skills have improved all summer long during my hiatus.  So on to the post!

Last night was our Fall Fellowship.  Our church planned a little get together and it went off better than we could have hoped.  We had so many members show up and visitors too.  It was held outside and I think that really encouraged everyone to hang out and visit and also people watch.  There were carnival games for the kids and even a "Dunk the Preacher" dunking tank.  I love that our preachers have a good sense of humor and let themselves be dunked so many times last night.  Somehow I don't see those mega church preachers doing anything like that!

There were some seriously cute costumes last night but of course, but the two cutest were my boys - Wolfe and his little brother turtle:
I especially love Cooper's pose in this one and Marshall's smile could not be bigger.  They were so happy to to finally get to put on their costumes last night since I finished them around noon that same day.  For some reason I kept putting off getting the fabric thinking that it was too early to start making their costumes but then I realized this event was a week away last week and had to get sewing.  Marshall's took the longest to do so I started with his and I have never used so much velcro in any sewing project.  So next year I will start on October 1st!

Good little wolf, don't bite little wolf!

Cooper explaining that he is a wolf and they have claws and that these are his claws.

Marshall showing these kids the way that turtles walk.

So we still have trick or treating coming up next week and I have two costumes to wash and mend before the big night.  I better get started now!

Petting Zoo

Cooper's preschool had a petting zoo today complete with pony rides. It was so awesome to take the kids there and not be run over like most other petting zoos I have been too. The animals were really sweet and not aggressively looking for food from the kids. Butter Bean was scared at first like any smart two year old should be around a mass of animals he does not know but he soon figured out they were not going to eat him and decided to pet them. He really liked the chickens and it made me daydream about buying land in the country and having my own fresh eggs... Anyway back to the here and now, the pony ride for him was not bad but not good either. I walked along side him and he had a look of distrust the entire time.

When String Bean's class came out I got them to put both of them on the horse and String Bean tried really hard to get Butter Bean to enjoy it to no avail. String Bean, however, looked like a natural up there on his mount. I might have to look into horse riding classes for him. Sounds more fun than soccer to me!

Hubby has a new hobby

My dear husband has suddenly discovered a hidden wood working talent! For several years I have wanted to do a garden but our soil and size of our yard had prohibited it. Not anymore! Husband built me two, count them two boxes for vegetables and herbs. He then went and built String Bean a balance beam because he was trying to use the sides of the vegetable boxes for that purpose and I was afraid he would fall into my new baby plants.  He also heaved all the dirt into the boxes so that I could come along in my new cute gardening gloves and plant my plant babies.  I am one spoiled girl!

The boys had a great time watching daddy use his saw and drill and loved digging in the dirt. Little Butter bean caught on very quickly that he plants were supposed to go in the ground and we had to keep an eye on him or he would have planted tomatoes in the sand box.

I look forward to tending the plants and teaching the boys were our food comes from. Hey, maybe they might eat some of the vegetables once we get them growing. A mom can dream right??

Big Boy Bed

Butter Bean is a big boy now.

Since he has been trying to crawl out of the crib lately I decided to go ahead and convert the crib. He was really excited but not as excited as String bean was for him. String Bean immediately asked if I would move his bed into Butter Bean's room. I told him no for the time being since I had no idea how this would work out.

I just put him to bed and I don't hear anything so I am going to assume all is well!

Here are of some pictures of the boys showing Daddy the new arrangements tonight. I apologize in advance because once again String Bean does not have any pants on. He got into a habit of running around in only underwear when we potty trained and his neglectful mother has not corrected it yet.
